Meet the mediator

Mark A. Cavins

Mark is a Florida Supreme Court Certified - Circuit Civil Mediator. Mark practiced law for over a decade before becoming a mediator. He graduated Barry University School of Law in 2015 and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2016. He began his career in a general practice firm, representing clients in a range of matters. During this time he handled matters which included: Small Claims, Evictions, Estate Planning, Probate, Guardianship, Personal Injury (mostly plaintiff side), Defamation, Property Disputes, Injunctions, Contract Drafting and Review, Contract Disputes, Business Formation and Operation, and more.

After his time in the general practice firm, he moved to an insurance defense firm. There, he primarily handled personal injury claims for auto carriers and their insureds. He also handled first party and third party property claims for home owners insurance carriers. When this firm dissolved, he bounced around a couple of larger insurance defense firms, but he felt that something was missing.

He decided to pursue the thing that he found he enjoyed most, helping resolve cases. He dedicated his time to building his own business and learning about being a mediator. He now brings his experience handling matters as an attorney for both plaintiffs and defendants and helps parties to explore opportunities to resolve their cases.

Outside of work, his wife and two children (a girl and a boy) keep him busy. Between school and extracurricular activities, theme parks and zoos, and travel, there is never a dull moment.
